Benefit for health
Cucumber for hemorrhoids is useful not only as a means for local treatment - it should be included in their diet for people who are prone to pathologies of the digestive tract and vascular system. More than 90% of cucumber pulp consists of water, which is absorbed by the intestinal walls and dissolves hardened feces. If a patient suffers from inflammation of the hemorrhoidal plexuses, it is important to ensure the prevention of constipation, since dense and hard feces during passage through the rectum can injure its walls and increase the severity of pain and bleeding.
Preventing constipation is not the only reason to enrich your daily diet with cucumbers and dishes made from them. The vegetable contains large amounts of potassium and iodine - essential minerals necessary for the healthy functioning of the thyroid gland, brain and heart muscle. The increased content of vitamin C, acids and other beneficial substances provides beneficial properties of the product, including:
- activation of the body's protective functions;
- increasing the regenerative properties of the skin;
- healing of wounds and cracks, which are observed in 85% of patients with hemorrhoids;
- improvement of blood chemistry;
- normalization of metabolic processes;
- stimulating blood flow and regulating the circulation of fluid structures in the body.
A lot of materials have been written about the treatment of hemorrhoids with cucumber, since this vegetable crop is rightfully considered one of the most effective products for the prevention of complications and treatment of pathology at an early stage. The vitamins contained in cucumbers improve the functional state of blood vessels, strengthen capillaries, reducing the risk of bleeding, and facilitate bowel movements, reducing the severity of pain and accelerating the healing of wound surfaces on the epithelial layer of the rectum.
Cucumber: beneficial properties in the treatment of hemorrhoids
Cucumbers, as you know, are a genus of herbaceous plants of the Cucurbitaceae family. Either India or China is considered the homeland of this vegetable, but its popularity has spread far beyond the borders of these countries. The cucumber has become widely used in cooking: it is usually eaten raw and pickled, both on its own and as part of a variety of dishes. Few people know about the beneficial properties of cucumber as a remedy for hemorrhoids, while this vegetable can really help.
It is necessary to include cucumber in the diet of a patient with hemorrhoids - this will help overcome the disease faster
Naturally, the healing properties of cucumber in the treatment of hemorrhoids are dictated by its composition. This vegetable consists of 95% water, which also plays a positive role in the treatment of hemorrhoids. Often this disease is accompanied by quite prolonged constipation, complicated by bowel movements. Cucumber juice, penetrating into the stomach and intestines, helps to liquefy stagnant feces, which greatly simplifies their removal from the body.
In addition, cucumbers are rich in a variety of macro- and microelements, as well as vitamins of groups A, B, C, E, which also have a positive effect on the body in general and on inflamed hemorrhoids in particular.
Regular consumption of cucumbers helps improve the metabolic process and normalizes the functioning of the endocrine glands.
Besides:
- iodine, contained in large quantities in cucumbers, is a substance that prevents the occurrence of malfunctions of the thyroid gland;
- Potassium and chlorine normalize blood composition and strengthen vascular walls.
- Since problems with blood vessels and metabolic disorders are one of the main causes of hemorrhoids, the benefits of cucumber in eliminating these problems are obvious.
Taking cucumber pickle also effectively helps alleviate the patient's condition in the treatment of hemorrhoids.
Possible harm
Possible negative consequences are associated with an increased content of harmful substances in vegetables that are grown for sale in large farms. In order for the fruits to ripen faster and be large, they are treated with chemicals that quickly penetrate the peel and accumulate under it. Chemicals, if their concentration exceeds the permissible values, can be harmful to health and even cause poisoning, therefore, when using this product to treat hemorrhoids, you must adhere to the following recommendations:
- Before use, thoroughly wash the cucumbers with hot water (it is better to use laundry soap);
- be sure to remove the peel (2-3 mm layer);
- If possible, you should purchase cucumbers from residents of dacha settlements and villages.
If you have diarrhea and flatulence, it is better to avoid eating cucumbers: they contain a lot of moisture and purines, which can worsen existing problems.
Important! In terms of nitrate content, cucumber ranks third after watermelons and melons, so you should choose the product very carefully. It is better to avoid purchasing fruits that are too large or have a yellowish tint.
How to treat hemorrhoids with cucumbers?
One of the most popular methods of getting rid of the disease is considered to be the method of Dr. Popov. His idea is based on the beneficial properties of the soil on which the cucumber grew, so the famous naturopath advises carrying out treatment without leaving the greenhouse. Treatment of hemorrhoids with cucumber has found many fans, although skeptical statements about the creator of the method can still be heard.
The essence of the method is as follows:
- Thoroughly wipe the cucumber from the garden from dirt, rinse it with running water and cut off the “pimples”;
- Cut off a small piece of cucumber and moisten it generously with water (you do not need to pick the vegetable itself);
- carefully insert the piece into the rectum;
- leave the vegetable in the anus for a few minutes (no more than 10), then remove it with clean hands.
Popov advises carrying out this procedure once every two days for 14 days. According to him, this period is enough to cure the disease completely, provided that the process has not progressed to an advanced form (stages 3 and 4).
How does cucumber help against hemorrhoids?
Many may think that treating hemorrhoids with cucumber is just another myth. But that's not true. Despite the fact that cucumbers are 95% water, they also contain beneficial substances that help fight the symptoms of hemorrhoids. Cucumbers contain many vitamins B, PP, C, E, which are involved in the process of hematopoiesis, help eliminate congestion and strengthen hemorrhoidal veins, stopping anal bleeding.
In addition, fresh cucumbers have the following properties:
- laxative (due to this action, the process of bowel movement is facilitated, the risks of damage to hemorrhoids when stool passes through the rectum are reduced to a minimum);
- angioprotective (normalizes blood flow in small capillaries, restores their tone, improves metabolism, eliminates swelling);
- healing (accelerates the healing process of anal fissures and prevents the appearance of new ones).
The laxative effect of cucumber is determined by the presence of fiber and water, which help normalize intestinal motility and soften fecal lumps. This ensures the prevention of constipation and reduces the risk of exacerbation of hemorrhoids.
In addition, the presence of large amounts of water has a positive effect on the condition of the blood. The liquid thins the blood, thereby preventing the formation of blood clots in the veins of the rectum. And this helps to avoid thrombosis, which is a common companion to hemorrhoids.
What does official medicine say?
Medical experts are categorically against using the method proposed by Popov. There are several reasons for the negative reaction.
- If a product with a dense and rough consistency is administered rectally, the rectum and hemorrhoids may be injured, which will lead to increased pain and bleeding.
- Carrying out manipulations directly in the greenhouse does not meet the requirements of asepsis and hygiene.
- The risk of inserting the cucumber too deeply and causing problems with removing the cucumber cannot be ruled out.
Cucumbers themselves have a positive effect on the course of the disease, but doctors do not recommend using them in the manner suggested by Dr. Popov. If the question of how to cure hemorrhoids with cucumber becomes relevant, it is better to use safer alternative medicine recipes.
How not to harm your health?
When treating hemorrhoids with cucumber at home, you will need to follow some rules of procedure so as not to harm your health:
- preliminary consultation with a doctor is necessary;
- You should not administer suppositories or make microenemas during exacerbation of the disease or severe anal bleeding;
- treatment with cucumber can be carried out only in the initial stages of hemorrhoids development;
- all medical procedures should be carried out only after defecation and washing the anus with warm water and laundry soap;
- when using cucumber rectal suppositories, you must ensure that their edges are smooth and not sharpened (this will reduce the risk of damage to hemorrhoids);
- For treatment, use only high-quality cucumbers grown in natural conditions without the use of nitrates.
Treatment of hemorrhoids with cucumber: recipes
The easiest way to use cucumbers in the treatment of a disease is to eat the product. You can prepare cucumber juice and add a little honey to it - this drink will cleanse the blood of toxins and restore circulation, as well as improve the functioning of the vascular system. To prepare it, you need to squeeze the juice out of two cucumbers (pre-peel them), then add a teaspoon of natural honey and stir.
It is best to drink the drink on an empty stomach 2-3 times a day. The course of treatment is 10 days.
Compresses
To prepare a compress, you need to grate half a peeled cucumber or chop it with a knife. Apply the resulting pulp in a thick layer to the anal area for 15-20 minutes. This procedure will perfectly eliminate swelling, relieve redness, soothe irritated skin and relieve pain. You need to repeat it 2 times a day for two weeks.
Cucumber candles
Cut a small piece from the core of the cucumber (about 2 cm in length and 0.5 cm in width) and carefully insert it into the anus. It is better to do this in the evening before bed after bowel movements. The duration of treatment is 10 days.
Cucumber decoction
The leaves and stem of cucumber are used to prepare the decoction. The ingredients (about 50 g) need to be poured with a glass of boiling water, put on the stove and simmer over low heat for no more than 3-5 minutes. Leave to infuse for 30 minutes, then strain and drink on an empty stomach.
A single dose is 100 ml of decoction. You need to take the product 3 times a day for a week.
All of the recipes listed may have individual contraindications, so it is better to consult a doctor before starting use.
Method of treating hemorrhoids using cucumber according to Malakhov
Dr. Malakhov also recommends treating hemorrhoids with cucumber. Firstly, it is safe, and secondly, it is effective. If a person develops internal hemorrhoids, the doctor advises using cucumber rectal suppositories. They have already been discussed above. But if the previous recipe said that you should use a small cucumber without peeling it, then the doctor recommends using a peeled vegetable, cutting out a candle of the required size from it.
Before insertion into the anus, the cucumber suppository must be lubricated with saliva. This will simplify the process of its passage through the rectum. Dr. Malakhov does not recommend using vegetable oils for this, as they slow down the process of absorption of healing substances by the mucous membranes.
The procedure is carried out before bedtime without removing the candle. It will pass on its own during a bowel movement. Duration of treatment – 4 weeks.
For external hemorrhoids, Dr. Malakhov advises using cucumber lotions. It was already described above how to make them. And to speed up the healing process for internal hemorrhoids, you can combine these 2 treatment methods.
